Postgraduate Student of the Department of Environment of the University of the Aegean

My name is Alexandra Katsara. I have a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Environmental Sciences, at the University of Aegean, in the Department of Environment and now I am pursuing a Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in «Global Environmental Change, Management and Technology – Research in Environmental Sciences Direction», at the University of Aegean (Department of Environment).  I have done my Internship at Lesvos' WasteWater Treatment Plant (Δ.Ε.Υ.Α.Λ.) as a wastewater analyst. In addition, I have worked on my Erasmus+ Traineeship as a Trainee Analyst of research projects concerning Nature - Based Solutions (NBS), at ALMA MATER STUDIORUM, (University of Bologna), on the analysis of research projects in which the Department of Agriculture and Food Sciences (UNIBO) was involved, namely PRIMA - FIT4REUSE project and PON - TARANTO project.

 

I’m currently working on the operation and monitoring of a pilot unit for the cultivation of aquatic plants, (Lemna minor & Chlorella sorokiniana), in hot spring waters and on finding optimal growing conditions for floating plants and microalgae in thermal waters at University of Aegean’s working program «Aegean Bioeconomy».
