Εxternal collaborator at the Department of Environment of the University of the Aegean

Ms Filothei Pappa is PhD of the Physics Department, National Technical University of Athens, working in collaboration with the Institute of Oceanography at Hellenic Centre for Marine Research. She has received bacηelor degree in Physics (2011) and master degree in Applied Physics (2014) from the National Technical University of Athens. During her PhD and Postdoc, she worked in many European projects (e.g. BlackSeaHazNet, 12CHN212, ANAVALOS). She is experienced in marine samples via gamma-ray spectrometry and X-Ray Fluoresence Spectrometry. She attended in a training activity for 3 months in the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre (experimental determination of the sediment-water distribution coefficient (Kd), solving advection-dispersion equations, applying ERICA Tool for the estimation of the radiological risk to non-human biota), and a number of national and international conferencees. Her research activities are focused on Environmental Radioactivity and in Instrumentation and techniques on Nuclear Physics applications, with specialization in gamma-ray spectrometry (HPGe, NaI(Tl), CeBr3), 137Cs pre-concentration techniques, radioecology and dosimetry. Today, she works as an external collaborator of Department of Environment at Aegean University carrying out studies regarding of natural radioactivity.
