Εxternal scientific collaborator at the Department of Environment of the University of the Aegean

I have a BSc Diploma in Physics, Department of Physics, School of Science, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece (1988). I have been awarded a PhD Degree in Experimental Nuclear Physics, School of Physics and Space Research, College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, University of Birmingham, United Kingdom (1992). The title of my doctoral thesis is “Scattering of polarized 7Li by 54Fe”. I am currently working as an external scientific collaborator with the Water and Air Quality Laboratory, Department of Environment, School of Environment, University of the Aegean, Greece and as an external scientific collaborator with the Environmental Radioactivity Laboratory, Institute of Nuclear and Radiological Sciences and Technology, Energy and Safety, National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, Greece. In the past I have also worked as an external scientific collaborator with the Department of Science, Technological Educational Institute of Larissa, Greece. My research interests are applied experimental nuclear physics, gamma spectrometry in solid and liquid environmental samples and air filters, gross alpha and beta measurements in environmental samples and air filters, measurements of exposure rates in the environment and radon measurements in soil, water and air. My scientific work consists of 13 publications in international peer reviewed journals and 21 presentations in international conferences.
